Medicare Safety Net Thresholds - Effective 1 January 2007

The thresholds for both the original and extended Medicare safety nets have increased from 1 January 2007.

• The original safety net has increased to $358.90 (from $345.50).
• The extended Medicare safety net has increased to:
  • $519.50 (from $500.00) for the lower threshold; and
  • $1,039.00 (from $1,000.00) for the upper threshold.
