The thresholds for both the original and extended Medicare safety nets increase from 1 January 2010.

• The original safety net increases to $388.80 (up from $383.90).

The extended Medicare safety net increases to:

• $562.90 (up from $555.70) for the lower threshold; and
• $1,126.00 (up from $1,111.60) for the upper threshold.
