Service or technology in this application

Coronary angiography involves local anaesthetic of either the femoral, brachial or radial area and insertion of catheters via a puncture to inject dye selectively into the coronary arteries, along with an injection of contrast into the left ventricle to assess left ventricular function, and measurement of haemodynamic pressures.

Coronary angioplasty and stenting is done during coronary angiography and involves balloon dilatation and often stent implant of coronary artery blockages to relieve the effects of myocardial ischaemia and improve symptoms and prognosis.

Medical condition this application addresses

Coronary artery disease involves blockage of one or more of the three coronary arteries which supply the heart. Patients may present with chest pain (angina), heart attack (myocardial infarction), or other complications such as heart failure or heart rhythm disturbances.
