Assessment

The assessment phase starts once you or a health technology assessment (HTA) group lodges an assessment report for your application. Applications on the direct pathway bypass Evaluation Subcommittee (ESC) consideration.

  • ESC consideration

    In this stage, you provide a pre-ESC response to the commentary or department-contracted assessment report (DCAR). ESC considers the assessment report and notes any issues for MSAC to consider.
  • MSAC consideration

    In this final stage, we appraise your application at an MSAC meeting and decide the outcome. The public summary document captures the outcome and explains the rationale for our decision.
