LA blockade of specific nerves, performed during anaesthesia for surgery, and intended to provide post-surgical analgesia.

Medical condition this application addresses

LA nerve blocks are performed for a wide variety of surgical procedures, across a wide range of surgical specialities. In general, they will be performed only where:

  1. the specific nerve supplying the tissues involved in a surgical procedure can actually be accessed and blocked, with minimal risk; and
  2. LA blockade has been proven to provide superior post-operative analgesia.
