Associate Professor Hossein Afzali (MD PhD) is a is a health economist in the College of Medicine and Public Health, Flinders University, South Australia. His main area of expertise relates to the economic evaluation of new health technologies with a focus on the application of decision analytic models. He is involved in a number of applied and methodological research projects in economic evaluation aiming to improve models of clinical care in the primary care setting and the decision making process around the public funding of health care interventions. Hossein previously served as a member of the PICO Advisory Sub-Committee (PASC) of the Medical Services Advisory Committee (MSAC) (2012-2015).
