Ms Rebecca JAMES has worked extensively in public policy and management in government and the private sector. Between 2007 and 2011 she was CEO of Research Australia, and currently works in global health as a consultant to Medicines for Malaria Venture. She was a Director, Health Services Australia (1999-2003), a member of the National Health Committee of the National Health and Medical Research Council (2006 - 2009), Director of the National Breast and Ovarian Cancer Center (2006 - 2011), and Director and Chairman, Neopec Pty Ltd (2006 - 2011). She is an independent consumer representative on the MBS Taskforce. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2001 and bowel cancer in 2013.
