Dr Frederick Khafagi - Biography

Dr Frederick Khafagi is a member of the Medical Services Advisory Committee (MSAC) and both the Protocol Advisory and the Evaluation Subcommittees (PASC and ESC). He is an endocrinologist and nuclear medicine physician, recently retired from clinical practice, and is a past president of the ANZ Association of Physicians in Nuclear Medicine (now the Australasian Association of Nuclear Medicine Specialists, AANMS). He has served on the Department of Health’s Professional Services Review, the Consultative Committee on Diagnostic Imaging, the NHMRC Radiofrequency Electromagnetic Energy Committee, Queensland Health’s Radiation Advisory Committee, and in various roles within the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and AANMS. He currently chairs one of the University of Queensland’s two Human Research Ethics Committees.
