Description of Medical Service

Implantation of a permanent wireless haemodynamic sensor and associated remote analysis of pulmonary artery pressure for patients with moderate chronic heart failure (New York Heart Association class III).

Description of Medical Condition

Heart failure is a complex clinical syndrome that is characterised by an underlying structural abnormality or cardiac dysfunction that impairs the ability of the heart ventricle to fill and / or eject blood. Heart failure usually manifests among patients as dyspnoea, with subsequent symptoms including fluid overload and confusion. Patients with heart failure often have limited exercise capacity, high mortality rates, and impaired quality of life. Acute decompensated heart failure, during which patients suffer a sudden worsening or deterioration of signs and symptoms, frequently leads to hospitalisation.
