PICO confirmation development

The PICO (population, intervention, comparator, outcome) is a key part of our health technology assessment (HTA) framework. In this stage, an HTA group develops a PICO confirmation document for your application. Applications on the expedited or direct pathway bypass this stage.

  1. Develop PICO confirmation

    Our secretariat contracts an independent health technology assessment (HTA) group to draft a PICO confirmation in consultation with you. This document is informed by the PICO in your application.
  2. Respond to PICO confirmation

    In this step, you review the draft PICO confirmation and make comments in your pre-PASC response. You can also comment on the consultation input our secretariat has received to date for your application.
