Suitability

This stage ensures your application is suitable for the MSAC process. All new applications go through this stage.

  1. Check suitability

This step is to check your application has supporting evidence and a suitable funding source. It also considers how novel or complex the service or technology is, and if it is necessary or possible to conduct a health technology assessment.
  2. Decide assessment pathway

If your application is suitable, it will be given an assessment pathway. Most applications follow the standard pathway. This means both our subcommittees need to consider it before it comes to us for appraisal.
  3. Notify outcome

If your application is suitable, an application manager will let you know and schedule your application for consideration on the next feasible meeting dates. If your application is unsuitable, our secretariat may refer it to another process or committee.
